Description
Anaura Bay – the stunning coastal seascape at Anaura Bay on the East Cape of New Zealand’s North Island, just north of Tolaga Bay.
British explorer James Cook landed at the southern end of the bay on 21 October 1769, where he met local Māori. A scenic reserve is located at the northern end of the bay, which includes a walkway and campsite. It has been named as one of the best beaches in New Zealand.
