Description
Great Exhibition Bay is a 30-kilometre wide embayment close to the northernmost tip of New Zealand’s North Island. It lies on the east coast of the Aupouri Peninsula in the Northland Region. The endless snow-white sands of Great Exhibition Bay are just north of Rarawa and almost always deserted. This is because there is no public road access; you’ll need to hike from Rarawa Beach, book a quad bike tour, or kayak.
Great Exhibition Bay has dazzling snow-white silica dunes, and it’s common to see people boggie-boarding down the sand dunes on a hot summers day.
